BASF introduce new Eco Pack
BASF have been working with customers and end users to test a new packaging concept in the UK market. The packaging concept is now finalised and in Spring 2010, the first significant volumes will be available in the UK in the new pack.
Some of the key features of the Eco Pack bring real benefits to the end user such as:
1. No foil seals - easier and quicker to open
2. Optimised design with central opening - reduced glugging, improved pourability, less splashing, easier and quicker to rinse
3. Fully plastic container system, including labels - improved opportunities for recycling and disposal
4. More than 25% less plastic than standard - lightweight design, easier to handle
BASF's Eco Pack Solution will be available in 1ltr, 5ltr and 10ltr sizes.
The main advantage by using BASF's Eco Pack is the time saved during the spraying operation.
'From an agricultural waste plastics recycling point of view this means the empty can, which is all made of the same polymer and with no foil, makes our job easier and the risk of contamination greatly reduced from farm right through to reprocessing the empty can. As a company that actually processes the empty chemical cans this is a massive step forward not only for us but also for the farmer, the design of this can helps in the emptying and ultimately the rinsing of the empty' says Robert Moore, Managing Director of Agri.cycle Ltd.
